The official institutions of the Visegrad Group countries in Brussels are organising a film evening during which they will present a short film from each country - the Czech RepublicHungaryPoland and Slovakia. These films bring the newest trends from Central European cinema. The Polish film is Hycel (The Dogcatcher), directed by Daria Woszek. This film is on the list for an Oscar and will be presented during the evening by Daria Woszek herself.

Evening organised by the Permanent Representation of Poland to the European Union, the Balassi Institute – Cultural Service of the Hungarian Embassy in Brussels, the Permanent Representation of Slovakia to the European Union, the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the European Union, the Representation of the Region of Kuyavia-Pomerania and the Brussels Film Festival.


Hycel (The Dogcatcher)
The Dogcatcher is a black comedy which tells the story of a man who kidnaps dogs in order to get a reward, passing himself off as the person who found the dog. One day, he meets a German shepherd dog who seems more like s stray…

The Visegrad Group is a political group of four countries from Central Europe: Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. The group was founded in 1991 in order to accelerate the European integration process of the region. Currently, its role is to increase supranational cooperation in this part of the continent. The Visegrad Group has a rotating presidency which Poland is holding from July 2016 until June 2017.
