Freedom Express
is an open-air exhibition which tells the story of the Central European societies whose civil rights were subject to many restrictions in all manner of regardswhen they were still part of the 'Eastern Bloc'. The exhibition shows their struggle to regain freedom as a very important driving force for the changes the world witnessed in 1989.
This exhibition constitutes one of the main elements of an international social and educational campaign organised by the European Network for Remembrance and Solidarity, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the uhering in of democratic change and the collapse of communism in Central and Eastern Europe.
Furthermore, the campaign encompasses a journey for youngsters through the events that have changed Europe.
This project has been carried out with the cooperation of the Embassies in Brussels of the following countries: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
Many thanks to the municipality of Ixelles and the Information Office of the European Parliament for their kind support.

The official presentation will take place on the 18th of November and will be accompanied by a musical intermezzo: Per Aspera ad Astra - Musique pour la Paix - The European Union Fanfare.
