REWERS (The Reverse), Poland, 2009
Warsaw. At thirty, Sabrina is still unmarried. Fortunately, her mother and grandmother are on hand to help out, inviting a host of suitors to visit the apartment. But Sabrina, an educated woman, won’t take just anybody. However, things take on a different complexion the day she meets Bronislaw. How handsome he is! Handsome, perhaps, but also a member of the secret police…
The winner of countless prizes in Poland, this black comedy suspense drama paints an unparalleled portrait of Communist Poland in the 1950’s. On the surface, the story of a young woman in search of a man, and in the background, the reign of terror set in place by Stalin. A visually beautiful work and a masterpiece in its genre.

Directed by: Borys Lankosz
Script: Andrzej Bart
Casting: Agata Buzek, Marcin Dorociński, Krystyna Janda
Duration: 101’

Wszystko, co kocham (All that I love), Poland, 2009
Poland, 1981. Behind the iron curtain, Janek, a soldier’s son, forms a rock group with some mates and falls in love with Basia, whose family, made up of sympathisers for the cause of Lech Walesa, hates Janek’s father. Family, friends, girlfriend: little by little, the teenager will have to make choices that will turn his world upside down…
First love, first stirrings of emotion, first teenager rebellion – all are at the heart of this film by  Jacek Borcuch, which unfolds in an atmosphere of high tension. The author urges us to consider his reflections that, to his mind, man is a social and thus political animal. A topical first work, selected for the Sundance Festival.
Directed by, script: Jacek Borcuch
Casting: Mateusz Kościukiewicz, Olga Frycz, Jakub Gierszal
Duration: 95’
