Born in Argentina in 1969, Nelson Goerner received 1^st prize in the Buenos Aires Franz Liszt Competition in 1986. He went on to meet Martha Argerich who became a big fan. He studied in Europe with Maria Tipo. His discography includes several discs devoted to the music of Chopin, two of which were for the Warsaw Fryderyk Chopin Institute and came out in 2009.
