Chopin on A2 posters by St-Luc College of Art
Brussels: travelling exhibition
05/03/10 - 13/06/10
The travelling ‘indoor’ and ‘outdoor’ exhibition of A2 posters, made by students of Advertising and Graphic Design at St-Luc, with support from Scenography students, is being put in place to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Fryderyk Chopin. Organised in collaboration with the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, the borough of Ixelles and the Evere Cultural Centre and Music Academy, this exhibition will be brightening up various parts of Brussels throughout the first half of 2010.
Kicking off with a 10m2 poster campaign at the Delta metro station (entrance of the E411 motorway) at the beginning of March and the distribution of ‘boomerang’ cards, the exhibition will be accompanied by concerts celebrating the music of the Polish composer. One of the challenges for the communications team is to ‘lend a youthful air’ to the image young people have of Chopin, as well as attract the interest of people who might not ordinarily listen to his music. After all, aren’t young people always putting their own slant on the cultural reference points of their elders? You can consult the full programme of events (exhibitions and concerts) on the site of the St-Luc College of Art (Ecole supérieure des Arts St-Luc de Bruxelles) from the beginning of February 2010.
